Luke started his journey in 1983, dabbling in boxing before becoming involved in the martial
arts.

He has trained in many other styles including Taekwondo, Freestyle & Kickboxing.

A top competitor from the nineties, Luke has had success in BJJ & Sports Jiu-Jitsu.

One of his toughest gradings being his blue belt in BJJ where he had to finish his sparring, wrestling
UFC stars Elvis Sinosic & Carlos Newton.

HISTORY :

Jake is a future star in the making, his enthusiasm for the
sport is truly inspirational. In his first year of competition
he won 3 gold, 4 silver & 1 bronze medal in Judo & won
the Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu National Championship.

Few people realise that Jake has a chronic disease. After a
painfully long diagnosis period, at age 2 Jake was finally
diagnosed with chronic Crohns disease.

During a hospital stay & the possibility of having his bowel removed (luckily he started to respond to intravenous medication) & years of large dose medical steroids, immunosuppressants & ongoing treatment, Jake finally has the disease in a manageable state.

When asked in class one day how he felt about all that success in his first year of competition, he simply replied 'even with a sore stomach you can still do anything you want'

Jake really is a martial arts success story in the making.

HISTORY :

Kris had his first taste of BJJ in 1999 after attending a seminar held by Gracie’s.

In 2000 Kris met & continued to train with renowned BJJ practitioners & UFC

fighters Anthony Perosh & Elvis Sinosic. He went on to compete and win minor

placings at many BJJ tournaments before winning gold at NSW BJJ open in 2002

and later that year also competing at the Pan Pacific’s. Cross training in Judo he

has also taken gold & bronze at the Australian University Games & the Eastern

University Championship in 2002 and 2003. Kris has trained and competed all

round the world, including the Philippines, Norway and the USA. Kris is known

for his technical approach to the arts and is a very cherished member of our stable.

HISTORY :

To most people Garry needs no introduction, he is an elite
professional athlete who played rugby league at the highest
level.

Garry's achievements on the field are to many to list.

With his competitive spirit still burning in sporting retirement, he turned to BJJ & MMA in 2001.

A fierce competitor & dedicated family man, Garry can often be found on the mat at Castle Hill.

Garry has fought in boxing and is a formidable exponent of the martial arts.

Peter has also trained extensively in Muay Thai and has several long term trips to Thailand where he has lived and trained with many of the top Thai and European fighters.

Realizing there was something missing from his game Peter turned to BJJ in 2002, selecting the Machado system for its renowned technical and always look for the submission approach to the ground game.

Peter has, and continues to compete with success and say he love the art for its real life practicality and the quality of people that he has met on the mat.

Peter is also a government accredited instructor. It’s a privilege to have him as one of the core members of our club.

An elite level grappler with skills well beyond his rank.

Luca has competed in BJJ taking 2nd place at the Machado state championships in 2008.

Luca also possesses great striking skills & is a force to be reckoned with on the mat.

Sparring partner, assistant coach & corner man to our fighters.

Luca is a senior member of our fight team & can be found on the mat imparting his vast knowledge.

Rob started at our club early in 2008 &
has since excelled well beyond his years.
Competing & winning many BJJ comps
in spectacular fashion with his (now not so
secret) favourite move.

Pankration champion & 2009 Australian
Pankration champion.

2010 Machado BJJ National Champion

After a short successful amateur MMA
career Rob moved to the professional
ranks late in 2009 winning in the first
minute via armbar submission.
A true innovator on the mat whose determination,
dedication & natural athleticism set him apart from
the ordinary folk.

Ara is an outstanding young athlete with a huge
future in the fight game. Even at such a young age
he has amassed many titles in various fight sports.

2009 Australian Pankration champion
2010 Australian BJJ champion
2009 & 2010 Freestyle & Greco Roman state champion
2010 ISSI Australian Freestyle wrestling champion

Ara is a great asset to our mat & brings with him, youth,
an open mind & great diversity in many style. I highly
recommend him as a training partner & a coach. Keep
your eye out for his name in the future as he hits the adult
ranks.
